The STEP UP partner city Gothenburg is hosting a two-day workshop with its companion cities Malmö, Borås (SE) and Bergen (NO) at the Visual arena Lindholmen in Gothenburg on the 10th and 11th of June. As day one is coming to an end, the four cities have presented the status of their climate and energy plans and challenges coming up in the near future. The cities will each benefit from the group’s complete focus in think-tank groups, where they get input from other city planners, environment and energy specialists on their specific and current issues.
Borås was the first city in the spotlight and the city’s Energy Coordinator Susanne Arneborg asked the group for input on the energy and climate strategy and SEAP, which she is currently working on.
On day two there will be more focus on the other cities and on collaboration between the cities, says Anna Svensson, project manager from the City planning office at the City of Gothenburg. Gothenburg also included a special session about our congestion charging lighthouse project, as there was significant interest in this from the companion cities.
