2nd Changing Employment Research Paper in the series has now been published and is available to download for free. The paper entitled "Inclusion through trade unions’ community organising and migrant workers’ activism: the case of Polish migrants in the UK" written by Karima Aziz, WLRI, London Metropolitan University, falls under the network theme 2. Inclusion and Exclusion.

The paper examines the response of UK trade unions to migration in the context of EU-enlargement. More specifically the paper scrutinises the challenges faced by a specific large UK trade union and its inclusion strategies of community organising to foster migrant workers’ activism amongst Polish migrants. In order to investigate the overall response of the researched union to this migrant group, findings from semi-structured interviews are analysed in the light of existing knowledge of the challenges faced by UK trade unions in organising Polish migrant workers.

The Research Paper Series has been developed to encourage debate and disseminate activities associated with the network. The central remit of the Research Paper Series is to explore and encourage debate on the changing nature of employment in Europe in the context of challenges, threats and opportunities for employees and employers.
