Together with the university of Aberdeen the project aims to develop a compact, lightweight, medium-voltage DC/DC converter solution for powering underwater vehicles and equipment along cables or umbilicals. This solution will achieve a step-change in efficiency, reliability and performance compared to present power transmission systems, enabling the development of cleaner equipment, minimising the environmental impact of subsea activities.

Harper UK have teamed up with RGU to Design a novel remote recovery system for the decommissioning of concrete mats from the seabed with the use of baskets to recover to the back deck of an offshore support vessel. The system will eliminate the need for divers, improving Health & Safety outcomes and standardising operational costs.

 | Global Design Innovation (GDi) is an innovative upstream Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) business providing survey (laser scanning), asset management software, engineering/design, fabrication and construction services to the energy sector.
GDI have aligned with the university of Aberdeen to develop a software tool that automatically recognises equipment from laser scans of production plants. Processing terabytes of scan data automatically, will yield massive savings in engineering time and enable new products and services such as verifying a whole plant design.

They work with potato growers throughout the UK to produce certified basic seed potato crops and sell to export and UK home trade customers. In collaboration with Abertay University's Division of Engineering and Food Science, they will design, develop, deploy and evaluate artificial intelligence solutions for gathering data from sensory evaluation home use tests, to optimise selection of new potato varieties, based on acceptable attributes of taste combined with agronomic properties.
