The Caledonian Business School (CBS) is the largest Business School in Scotland offering over fifty career-focused programmes across a variety of levels and modes of study. During 2005/2007 CBS undertook re-engineering activities in the core modules of six of the School's eight divisions as well as sharing experiences across the whole Business School.
GCU Learning & Teaching Showcase Event 25th May 2006
This one day event was designed to allow staff at GCU to "celebrate and learn about ... innovative practice". There were six themed strands to the showcase which included: Staff Development; Assessment; The Student Experience; Employability; Flexible Delivery; and Learning and Teaching.
The Assessment strand was used to showcase projects being redesigned by CBS as part of REAP.

Andy Sharp: Interactive Lectures - Pilot of using EVS
This presentation reports on the work Andy and Douglas Chalmers have been doing in piloting and evaluating two alternative Electronic Voting Systems in Semester B 2005-06.
Anne Warren: Enhancing Student Engagement & Feedback Throughout the Semester
Anne reports on the first implementation of re-engineering the assessment strategy in the 2nd year module Consumer Buyer Behaviour, taken by 265 students in 2005-06.
Changes made enable early formative (and summative) feedback to be given to students, who are then encouraged to use this feedback to enhance their performance in subsequent assessment activities.
Sheena MacArthur: Large Scale Simultaneous Online Assessment
This presentation focuses on the evaluation of implementing online assessment in Semester A in January 2006.
Since then, the Semester B online assessment has also been undertaken with changes made identified following evaluation of Semester A experience. While an updated evaluation will follow, the online assessment in Semester B was 100% successful!
